Modeling: Retrofitted Building WIP

May 18th, 2009 rubengarzajr No comments

I am slowly filling up my library of futuristic buildings to use in a large city set I am working on.  I plan to finish up the textures on this model and tweak the mental ray materials.  I also want to push the retrofit aspect a little further.

3ds Max Script: Batch Name Editor

May 17th, 2009 rubengarzajr Comments off

DOWNLOAD: Name Editor

Description: I needed more functionality than max’s built in batch rename tool offered, so I wrote my own renaming tool.  This tool offers search and replace, appending and trimming and numerical incrementing.

The renaming works on the objects you currently have selected.

Version: 2009-03-17

Compatability: Tested on 3ds Max 2008, 2009, 2010.

Installation: Download the script.  Drag the downloaded file from where you saved it into the 3ds Max viewport.  Go to Customize /  Customize UI and select the toolbars tab.  Change the category to  NameEditor.  Drag and drop the NameEditor tool to somewhere on your UI and a new button should appear.
