Art Appreciation
Wow, Googled myself and found a link to some Wing Commander fans who like my art. Neat!

This is another Zoa creature – this time bred for war. Not a hybrid like the soldier below, this pure Zoa has large spikes for impaling enemies and absorbs most kinetic impacts without taking much damage due to its distributed organ structure floating within a semipermeable membrane. The only non gelatinous parts of this creature are its spikes and mandibles.
I thought it would be interesting to show the development of a character for SHOC Trooper 2. The first rough design will probably end up being reused for a Zoa Controller – one of the more skilled workers of the Zoa.
One idea I am hoping will come across as the model progresses is the the Zoa is the jelly fish like organism on the other creature’s back. Its tentacles have penetrated the body of the bipedal creature so that it acts as its brain and central nervous system. Perhaps these creatures were bonded at birth, but the Zoa certainly got the better end of that deal, as the armored bipedal creature has lost all free will to the Zoa.
This a work in progress of a futuristic city I am working on. In the background are the ruins of a large city.
Here’s a blast from the past – a 1618 frame animation I made on my trusty 486 back in 1996.
