Modeling: Retrofitted Building WIP
I am slowly filling up my library of futuristic buildings to use in a large city set I am working on. I plan to finish up the textures on this model and tweak the mental ray materials. I also want to push the retrofit aspect a little further.
3ds Max Script: Batch Name Editor
Description: I needed more functionality than max’s built in batch rename tool offered, so I wrote my own renaming tool. This tool offers search and replace, appending and trimming and numerical incrementing.
The renaming works on the objects you currently have selected.
Version: 2009-03-17
Compatability: Tested on 3ds Max 2008, 2009, 2010.
Installation: Download the script. Drag the downloaded file from where you saved it into the 3ds Max viewport. Go to Customize / Customize UI and select the toolbars tab. Change the category to NameEditor. Drag and drop the NameEditor tool to somewhere on your UI and a new button should appear.
Tool UI:

Sketch: Mech
I have a Nintendo DS homebrew program called colors that lets you paint on the DS using pressure sensitivity. The interface is like a simplified version of Painter, and below is a result of a few hours work. It is really convenient to take my tiny DS with me and doodle on the run.

Sketch: Hunting Party
Every so often I spend 30 minutes sketching random stuff. Here’s a robot hunting party standing over their prey.

Modeling: Male Head WIP
Haven’t worked on this in a while, but back in November of ’07 I added a mental ray skin to the head.

Hello world!
Starting this blog thing. Hopefully add links to new art and scripts…
