<p><strong>Description:</strong> I needed more functionality than max&#8217;s built in batch rename tool offered, so I wrote my own renaming tool.  This tool offers search and replace, appending and trimming and numerical incrementing.</p>

<p><strong>Compatability:</strong> Tested on 3ds Max 2008, 2009, 2010.</p>
<p><strong>Installation: </strong>Download the script.  Drag the downloaded file from where you saved it into the 3ds Max viewport.  Go to <strong>Customize /  Customize UI</strong> and select the <strong>toolbars </strong>tab.  Change the category to  <strong>NameEditor</strong>.  Drag and drop the NameEditor tool to somewhere on your UI and a new button should appear.</p>
